Method #1: By Clearing the App Cache and App Data
Step #1. Go to Settings on your Android phone.
Step #2. Next, Scroll down to find ‘Apps or Applications’ when you find it just tap on it.
Step #3. Here you will see all your installed apps, Tap on WhatsApp.
Step #4. Now, Tap on Storage, once it opens it will show you two options, ‘Clear Cache’ and ‘Clear data,’ first clear the cache and then clear data.
Step #5. Now restart your Android smartphone and check whether that error is still there or gone.

Method #2: By Uninstalling and Reinstalling WhatsApp
The method we are going to suggest now is the last resort to solve the error.
Step #1. Open Settings → Apps or Applications.
Step #2. Next, Tap on WhatsApp.
Step #3. Tap on ‘Uninstall’ button and when it asks to confirm, just tap on OK to confirm it.
Step #4. Now restart your Android smartphone.
Step #5. Go to Google Play Store once your smartphone is restarted and reinstall WhatsApp.
This should clear the ‘Unfortunately WhatsApp has stopped’ error on Android.
