Since 2014 the when Samsung unveiled its first ever 4GB LPDDR4 the revolution was begun in the smartphone industry to have a bigger inbuilt memory which enables smartphones to work faster and store more. Now the same company has announced the industry’s first-ever 8GB LDDR4 DRAM module and that could certainly kick off another revolution for sure. But this time with this latest announcement, the giant from South Korea is aiming at tablets, ultra-thin notebooks and high-end mobile phones only.

Samsung reveals its first 8GB LPDDR4 mobile DRAM Module

The DRAM is engineered with the use of 10nm process. It sports four 16 gigabit (2GB) LPDDR4 memory chips in order to create an 8GB module. The memory is equipped to operate at up 4266Mbps. With the advanced manufacturing technology, the 8GB module is far more efficient.

Since the announcement has been made, it has also allowed some murmurs regarding where we will first see this new DRAM and the obvious answer is probably the Galaxy S8 which will be coming soon and the possibilities are high that we might see that phone being the first one which has this 8GB RAM.
