The Google Home’s default music service plays songs in Google Music Play, but now you can replace Google Music Play with the Spotify. So, by simply saying “Ok Google, play Tayler Swift’s Blank Space,” it will automatically use the Spotify to play the song instead Google Play Music. You can also use Google’s music service to play songs. How to Use Spotify on the Google Home Device
If your Spotify account is registered to the same email address on your Google Home, then it will offer link account for you. You also have another option to create the free account. You just need to say ‘yes’ to go further, then you will get a 7-day Premium trial option. Let’s get started to link your Spotify account with Google Home through this guide.
Note: You can link only one Spotify account to your Google Home.
Step #1. Open Google Home app on your device.
Step #2. Tap on the device button on the top right corner of the screen.
Step #3. Tap on the menu button on the top upper right corner.
Step #4. Tap on Settings.
Step #5. Tap on Music.
Step #6. Select Spotify.
Step #7. Now, you will get a popup with “Link your Spotify Account” then tap on Link Account.
If you don’t have an account, then you can create a new one by tapping on “Sign Up to Spotify.”
Step #8. Enter your login details and hit “Log In” (You can also select “Log in with Facebook” if you want)
Step #9. Tap on “Okay” to confirm.
Now Spotify is your default music provider on your Google Home speaker. From now, you can tell Google Home to play music without adding “Spotify” word on the commands. Just say “Hey Google,” The Weeknd playlist’, you can also command Google Home to stop, pause, play and set volume.
If you do not want to continue with the Spotify, then you can unlink your Spotify by just tapping on “Unlink” option.
