Now it’s going to be more fun to capture and share photos on Instagram as the Facebook-owned photo-sharing app has improved its portrait mode feature with a new feature called ‘Focus.’ Another important addition is a new way of mentioning other users in stories by using a sticker.

The latest app version (39.0) of Instagram has this feature included and if you are using iOS devices like iPhone SE, 6S, 6S Plus, 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus and X, you can enjoy this Focus mode feature. For Android users, the feature is available on “select Android devices.” This tutorial tells you how you can use Portrait Mode in Instagram on your Android and iPhone.

Focus mode is a nifty new feature that resides next to Superzoom in Instagram. When you open the Camera in Instagram, you will find this option next to Superzoom; the best thing about is that you can use this feature in front and rear cameras. When you level the camera at a person or at your self, the background will be blurred, and the person will be in focus.

Step #1. First off, you need to update Instagram to the latest version (39.0).

Step #2. Launch the Instagram app and open Camera.

Step #3. Now you can choose Front or Rear camera option.

Step #4. Next, you need to tap on Focus (next to Superzoom) under the record button.

You can take photos or video on your Instagram; once you are done, you can use filters and make necessary changes in your creation.

Focus mode behaves like portrait mode feature packed in newer Apple devices with dual-lens devices.

While sharing your photo or video captured with focus mode, don’t forget to use @mention sticker, which is exclusively available in iOS devices. It will be fun to use a sticker to tag your friends on Instagram.
