How to Use Odin to Flash Firmware Update on Android Device
Make sure to download:
- Download and install Samsung USB drivers on your Windows PC.
- Download Samsung stock firmware from Sammobile firmware directory.
- Download Odin3-v3.11.2-New-UI.zip on your computer.
Enable USB Debugging
You must enable USB debugging before going through the process.
Open Settings app → Developers options → Enable USB Debugging.

Get Started with Flashing Firmware
Step #1. First off, you need to extract/unzip the firmware files and Odin file in a folder or on the desktop.
Then, you have to run Odin tool as administrator on your computer.
Step #2. Next, you will have to reboot your Android device into download mode.
Just hold down the Volume down, Home and Power buttons at once for about six seconds until you see a warning sign on the screen. Then, click the volume up button to proceed.
Step #3. Now, make sure to check “Auto Reboot” and “F. Reset Time” options in the Odin tool.
Next up, connect your device to your computer. Check out the ID:COM section to ensure that your device is connected to Odin.
Then, you have to click on the PA/PDA and choose the firmware file tar.md5 from the extracted folder.
Now, you need to wait for Samsung tool to analyze the file.
Step #4. Then, click on the Start button in order to kickstart flashing the firmware process.
You should see a message named PASS on the screen and subsequently, your device will reboot.
That’s done! You have rightly restored, unbricked or recovered your Samsung device. Use these same steps to flash firmware or fix your device in future as well.
