How to Enable Night Mode on Google Home, Home Mini or Home Max

Step #1. Launch the Google Home app on your smartphone.

Step #2. Tap on the TV/speaker shaped icon at the top right corner of the app.

Step #3. Now, Select Devices from the menu and locate your Google Home.

Step #4. Tap on the three-dot menu icon in the top right corner of the option.

Step #5. Tap on Settings and then select Night mode.

Step #6. Tap the toggle to the right to Turn ON Night Mode.

How to Adjust Night Mode on Google Home, Mini, and Max?

As soon as you enable the night mode, you’ll see a ‘Night mode is active’ heading in blue. Below that you will get two options. ‘From’ and “To” through which you can schedule your night mode hours.

Step #1. Tap on the (📝) pencil icon beside ‘from’ to set the starting time of the night mode.

Step #2. Tap on the (📝) pencil icon beside ‘to’ to set the ending time of the night mode.

To set the days of the week for which you want the night mode to function, tap on each blue-colored icon denoting the days of the week.

How to Adjust the volume and LED brightness level in Night Mode?

Below the time and day section in the Night mode, you will see an “Additional Settings” option. Under that, two sliders “Maximum brightness at night’ and ‘Maximum volume at night’ are provided, sliding which, you can adjust your desired levels of both brightness and volume.

As mentioned before, if you wish to mute notifications and boot up sounds, enable the ‘Do not disturb’ feature in the ‘Additional Settings’ section. You can stay rest assured as it won’t turn off your timers and alarms.

By making such volume adjustments, your Google Home will then respond to you in the volume level set by you during the night mode hours. It applies to both spoken responses as well as music streaming. However, in case if you want to raise the volume, you can always ask for it or set it manually by using the touch controls on top of the speaker. The new volume level will remain as it is until you change it again or until the Night Mode is disabled or enabled again.
