Note: These steps have been tried out on the OnePlus 3 running Android Oreo 8.0 update. Other smartphones may have different steps.
How to turn off location tracking for all apps on Android Oreo
Step #1. Open Settings on your device.
Step #2. Scroll down to the Personal section and tap on Location.
Step #3. Now turn the toggle off to disable location service for all apps.
Once you turn this option off, you cannot use access GPS on any apps without permission.
One more important thing is when you turn off location, some apps can still be able to use your location from the Google Location History. Luckily, Android Oreo also has an option to stop apps from using the location from Google Location History.
To do that, go to Settings → Location → Google Location History and turn off toggle.
You can also change location mode as per your need by heading to Settings → Location→ Mode → select from High Accuracy/Battery Saving/Device Only. Make sure the GPS service is activated.
How to Stop Apps from Accessing your Location on Android Oreo
Step #1. Launch Settings on your Android Oreo device.
Step #2. Scroll down to Personal section and tap on Apps.
Step #3. Select “App Permission” and tap on Location.
Step #4. Now tap on those apps you want to stop accessing your location.
