How to activate already present Google Project Fi on your Pixel 2?

Before we begin, here’s a short brief about Google Project Fi. It is Google’s mobile network service. It is an inexpensive wireless plan that gives you best available network between Wifi and three 4G LTE networks. It is a simplified prepaid carrier with numerous benefits that you would love to have it right now.

Though at present Pixel, Android One Moto X4, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, or a Nexus 6 are the only phones compatible with Project Fi, technically it can work on any device that supports a GSM SIM card and network. To make that possible, you need to transfer your current number to Project Fi SIM card and activate it using any Google device and then return to your regular phone. But the perks of having it on a Google device like Pixel 2, is extra special. Why?

In Pixel 2 you need not a Project Fi SIM card to activate service as it comes with an eSIM, which means, you can start using Project Fi as soon as you set-up your phone.

Final thoughts

Project Fi is an affordable cellular network that comes with a number of interesting benefits and using it on a Google device, doubles the benefit like cross-networking, Wifi switching, i.e., your phone will automatically select the best coverage network by roaming between registered Wi-Fi networks and its other cellular partners T-Mobile, US Cellular, and Sprint cell. Another advantage that you get is “Visual Voicemail.” You need not dial into your voicemail as you can access and listen to it directly from your phone app. Sounds interesting, isn’t it?
