Before you root your OnePlus 6…

Now you are all set to root your OnePlus 6.

Step #1. First off, you need to download twrp-3.2.1-3-wOOSkernel.img and Magisk

Step #2. Next, you are supposed to connect your phone to the computer via USB cable.

Step #3. While your OnePlus 6 is connected to your computer, you need to transfer Magisk file to your phone.

Step #4. Since TWRP file has a pretty long name to remember and type, you should change it to a short name like TWRP-3213. Also note that you should not delete the TWRP-3213 from your computer, as you need the file later.

Step #5. Here, you need to enable USB debugging option on your device.

Step #6. Launch a command window inside the folder, wherein you have saved TWRP file – TWRP-3213.

Step #7. Next, type cmd in the address bar of the window of the folder you have opened in step 6 above.

Step #8. When you hit the Enter key, a command window opens and its location will be that folder.

Step #9. Now enter a command to boot your OnePlus 6 into bootloader/fastboot mode:

adb reboot bootloader

On your OnePlus 6, you might see a pop-up asking your permission to ‘Allow USB Debugging’.

Step #10. Tap on OK button.

Step #11. Next, type a command given below:

fastboot flash boot twrp-3213.img

Press the Enter key to install the TWRP in both the boot slot of your smartphone, i.e. OnePlus 6.

Step #12. It’s time to reboot your device into recovery mode. For this purpose, press volume buttons to invoke recovery mode option; next, tap the power button to choose recovery mode. This will boot your phone into recovery mode and you can access TWRP.

Step #13. If you are using any PIN or password on your OnePlus 6, you need to enter that code here to get TWRP recovery.

Step #14. Since TWRP is in the Chinese language, you need to change it to English. For this, tap on Settings ⟶ Globe icon ⟶ English.

Step #15. Install the root file now: Install ⟶ Choose the file ( ⟶ Confirm installation.

Step #16. Finally, tap on Reboot System to restart your OnePlus 6.

You have done it! Your OnePlus 6 is rooted successfully.
