How to Root OnePlus 3 in Just 6 Steps

Must Follow These Steps Before Moving Ahead

  • Make sure to backup all the data on your smartphone.
  • You need to download these files your computer.
    ADB –
    TWRP –
    SuperSU –
  • Open Settings and enable developer options by tapping build number 8 times. (Settings → about → build number).
  • In settings, you have to enable Developer options. At the same time, you need to enable OEM unlocking, advanced reboot, and USB debugging.

Once you have followed all these above mentioned steps, let’s move ahead!

Step #1. First off, you need to long press the power button and select Reboot. Then, choose “Reboot into bootloader mode”. Now, you have to connect your phone to a PC.

Step #2. Next, you have to copy the TWRP and Super SU files to your ADB folder.

Step #3. In the ADB folder, you need to press shift+right click and choose open command window. Next up, type Fastboot devices in a window. It will display your OnePlus 3 confirming that it has been connected.

Step #4. Up next, you have to type fastboot OEM unlock. Now, check out the option on your device asking to unlock the bootloader. You need to use the volume navigation keys and choose the appropriate option and press the power button.

Then, disconnect your device from PC. It will be switched off. You have to press volume up and power button simultaneously. Fastboot should load. Reconnect your device to the PC and type in the window on your computer, fastboot flash recovery.img.

Step #5. Next, you will need to press volume down button until recovery mode option appears on the screen. Now, hit the power button in order to boot the device into the recovery mode. Then, you have to back up your ROM.

Step #6. Finally, you will have to connect the device to the PC again and copy SuperSU file from your PC to your device’ storage.

Then, you need to open your recovery, select install and select the SuperSu file from the list and swipe to flash it. Next, you will have to reboot your device.

That’s it! You have successfully rebooted your OnePlus 3 smartphone. In order to whether the device has been perfectly rooted or not, you will need to download root checker on your device and allow SupersSU access.
