I have an iPhone and I use it every day, but when the battery life goes down to 20% and I doesn’t found any charger around then it’s kind of biggest hurt for me. So I tried some tricks to increase the battery life and it works. Well, it just did not save battery life, but additionally, improves the overall performance of the device. Let me share you some tips and tricks to improve iOS 11 battery life on iPhone and iPad.
How to Improve iOS 11 Battery Life
#1. Turn Off Wireless connections
Today, most of the smartphone users are using Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection to get connect with other devices. But, somehow they forgot to turn off the wireless connection even if they are not using it. Hence, I suggest you do not forget to turn off your uses Wi-Fi and Bluetooth when you not needed. It is the easiest trick that can save battery life on iPhone or iPad in iOS 11. To turn off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, head over to Setting → Wi-Fi /Bluetooth or you can swipe up to launch Control Center and then tap on Wi-Fi /Bluetooth button to turn off.
#2. Reboot your device
Reboot, restart and reset are one of the best medicines to solve many issues in any device. Well, it is an old method, but it works in most of the case. So it would be better to try this trick to increase battery life. You just need to press and hold on your home button and power ON/OFF button at the same time to reboot your iOS device. If unluckily, your device’s home button is not working properly then you can still restart iPhone without power button.
#3. Track Battery Usage
When you see your devices battery life is continuously draining, then you should check out where the issue may be generated. Hence, you need to always maintain a tab on battery consumption to know that exact reason of the battery draining issue and get the perfect idea about the battery eating apps.
Go to the Settings → Battery.
Then check out the battery consumption of last 24 hours and 7 days.
You can also check out exact battery usage of the specific app by tapping on clock icon.
#4. Disable Background App Refresh
Background running app refresh always helps you to do the important task by minimizing other secondary things. It’s the great option to do the things, but it also drains the battery life. Just by heading to Settings → General → Background App Refresh.
Then turn off the switch next to apps which you don’t want to run in the background.
#5. Enable Low Power Mode
Low Power Mode is one of the great features in iOS 11 that Apple has integrated. When this feature turned on, it can automatically turn off some higher power consumed factors such are Siri, mail fetching, automatic downloads and more. In order to turn on Low Power Mode, you just need to command “Turn on Low Power Mode’ to Siri or activate it by heading to Settings → Battery.
Then Turn on Low Power Mode.
#6. Use Location Service cleverly
Location service is one of the great features that track you every movement in every place. For sure, that’s very cool. But, the continuous GPS tracking can also influence the battery life of the device, so it outcomes the rapid battery consumption. Hence, when turning on Location Service for some apps; do not forget to turn off the Location Service before locking the iPhone. To enable/disable Location Service, you need to go to Settings → Privacy → Location Service. You can completely disable the Location Service here or set your apps individual list to use the Location Service wisely.
The significant locations feature on your iPhone can record your frequently visited places and provides the perfect location in order to use in apps. But, it may also cause the battery dropping issue. So to increase the battery life in iOS 11 device.
Go to Settings → Privacy → Location Services.
Then System Service → Significant Locations.
Turn Off the Switch next to Significant Locations option.
Have you ever notice a tiny icon at the bottom of the lock screen or in the app screen? If yes, then you have turned on Location-Based Suggestions. If this feature is not worth for you then disable it by heading over Settings → Privacy → Location Service → System Service and then turn off Location-Based Suggestions.
#7. Adjust Display and Brightness
Sometimes, the Auto-Brightness can influence the battery life of your device. But, you can adjust the display brightness by heading over to Settings → Display & Brightness → Turn Off Auto-Brightness.
Here you can also auto lock at the minimum to save battery lifespan. Well, here you can also see the “Raise to Wake” so I suggest you to turn off this feature. I really liked this feature, but it always turns the display on even if you do not use it.
#8. Turn off “Hey Siri.”
Siri is always waiting for you in the background for command; it is always running in the background on your iPhone. So it’s quite possible that it may consume more battery in the background. If you are not using it regularly, you can turn off Siri by heading to Settings → Siri & Search.
And the toggle “Listen for Het Siri” to turn off the feature.
#9. Allow Notification for Selected Apps
Sometimes, the endless alerts from apps may effect the battery lifespan of your device. I usually allow only those notifications which really useful or matter to me. It can save my battery life and improve the performance of the device as well.
Go to Settings → Notification.
And then tap on any app that you do not want to get notifications. After that turn off the switch next to Allow Notifications
#10. Remove Widget
Widgets are one of the better ways to take a look of the app without opening the app. Although, it can use more battery life on your device, so if you want to disable any widget then follow this straightforward step:
Step #1.Swipe right from the home screen to see the Today View.
Step #2.Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and then tap on Edit.
Step #3. Here you can remove each app’s widget by tapping on Red (-) icon next to each app and then tap on remove.
To add the widget by scrolling down and tap on Green (+) button and then tap on Done.
