Being a fitness freak, I make sure to keep a track of my health. The stock Health app allows me to track data such as steps walked, calories burned, and heart rate info with ease. As a result, I’m able to remain healthy. What about you?

In order to ensure I don’t lose the health data, I make a backup of it. Right now, the only way do it is to export Health app data. In case you switch devices, the only option you have is to restore from backup to get back all your data.

Should you back up to your Mac make sure to encrypt the backup or else no health data will be restored.

How to export Health app data in iOS 10 on iPhone and iPad

You can export your data using Health app itself. Though it has limitations, it’s an easy way. It presents your data in an XML file.

Step #1. Launch the Health app on your iPhone.

Step #2. Next, make sure Health Data at the bottom left of the screen is selected. (If it’s not already. Tap on the profile button at the top right corner.

Step #3. Tap on Export Health Data.

Step #4. Tap on the Export in the popup to confirm.

Step #5. Finally, you need to select the app through which you want to export the data. In this test, I will mail it to myself.

How to Export Health Data using QS Access on iPhone/iPad

There are several third party apps like QS Access which allows you to export your data with ease. Moreover, it will output all the information to a readable CSV file.

Download QS Access from App Store. It is available for free.

Step #1. Open QS Access on your iPhone.

Step #2. Next, you have to choose the columns that you wish to export and tap on Create Table.

Step #3. Next, you need to grant access to the data. Simply tap on the slider and then tap on Allow.

Step #4. A table of your data will be displayed on screen. You can now share it through the Share button.

Step #5. Select the app through which you wish to share the data. Now, I want to mail it to myself.
