One of the best VR platforms, Google Daydream, has many takers in line, but it supports only handpicked smartphones. It is not that the number will not increase in the future but till it does one needs to wait. But there is a way out found for Android Nougat smartphone users where they can enable daydream on their phone. But this way out is not that easy.

How to Enable Daydream VR on Any Android Nougat Smartphone
Step #1. As mentioned above first you need to make sure that your smartphone is running on Android Nougat and it is rooted. Make sure that it has installed a root explorer application, Daydream, and Google VR Services.
Step #2. Use the root explorer app and go to: /system/etc/permission/handheld_core_hardware.xml
Step #3. Next, Select Edit and modify the “handheld_core_hardware.xml” file.
Step #4. Now, find the Root Permissions tag and add the code given below:
<feature name=”android.software.vr.mode” /> <feature name=”android.hardware.vr.high_performance” />
and save it.
Step #5. Now reboot your device.
Step #6. Launch the Daydream app and place your device in Daydream VR headset to make sure that the setting is working properly.
