iOS 10 has a lot of exciting features and Apple Claims that iOS 10 is the most feature-rich mobile OS they invented. iOS 10 announced at WWDC 2016 and rolling out to users in short span of time. Mean time it was quite successful to make its impression among the users.

Believe me, it has been quite successful in making a good impression.

A quick change that I have noticed in iOS 10 is a camera access on Lock Screen. In previous versions of iOS, we need to swipe on a lock screen from Bottom-to-Top to access Camera App. But in iOS 10 camera access has been changed and now we can open camera by swiping Right-to-Left on Lock Screen.

For me, it’s annoying. As I am habitual to open lock screen by swiping in the same directions using iOS 9 and previous versions of iOS. Unfortunately, my habit and taps on lock screen open up Camera app in iOS 10 as Apple has removed functionality to unlock screen swiping right to left.

To solve this Apple have added a feature to remove/disable camera access from a lock screen in iOS 10. So, let’s find out “how to disable camera access on iPhone lock screen in iOS 10“.

How to Remove/Disable Camera Access from the Lockscreen in iOS 10

Step #1. Launch Settings app on your iOS device, tap on General.

Step #2. Now, you need to scroll down and tap on Restrictions. (If you haven’t yet set it up, you will have to enable it.)

Step #3. Enabling “Restrictions” will require to Set a Passcode.

Step #4. Finally, turn off the switch next to Camera to remove/disable access from a lock screen. Then, exit the settings.

If you ever happen to change your mind or wish to access instantly camera app lock screen of your iPhone, you can re-enable it.

Step #1. Follow all the steps from 1 to 3 explained above in guide to remove/disable camera access from a lock screen on iOS 10.

Step #2. Toggle “ON” the switch next to Camera icon. Then exit the settings.

Personally, I keep Camera disabled so that it’s not accessible from the Lockscreen.
