Along with plenty of new hardwares and features, Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL has striking and fruitful always-on ambient display feature. It lights up OLED screen to show you a time and notifications. By default, always-on display enabled in Android Oreo 8.0, but you can disable it if you want.
Since Google’s both new devices use OLED technology, it consumed less power while you have activated the always-on display. Instead, if don’t want this features to be activated and think that it may concern to your privacy for notifications then it is better to turn off the always-on ambient display on Google Pixel 2/Pixel 2 XL. Just follow below steps to enable/disable always-on display feature of the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL.
Step #1. Open Settings app from your app drawer on your Pixel 2 Smartphone.
Step #2. Next, scroll down and select “Display” option.
Step #3. Now, tap on “Advanced”.
Step #4. Scroll down and then select “Ambient display”.
Step #5. Turn Off the switch next to the “Always on” option to disable.
Once you turn off the always-on display on Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, you won’t get any notification, time and date on your device’s OLED screen.
