Step #2. If a “Trust This Computer” message appears on your iPone, you need to agree to it.

Step #3. In iTunes, you have to click the phone icon (near the upper-left corner) to bring up the Summary screen.

(Note: In order to save Health and Activity data from your iOS device or Apple Watch, you will have to encrypt your backup. To do so, you just need to select the box called Encrypt [device] backup and create a memorable password. Make sure to remember this password as there’s no way to recover your iTunes backups without it.)

Step #4. Finally, click on Back Up Now button.

Once the process ends, you can check out if your backup has been completed successfully or not. To do so, go to iTunes Preferences → Devices.

The name of your device with the date and time that iTunes created the backup will appear on the screen. If your back has been encrypted, you will see a tiny lock icon beside the name of your device.
