I really love messaging with the use of plenty of funny GIFs as they truly rev up messaging experience. What I can’t say even in hundreds of words, a cool GIF says it all with a lot more clarity. That’s the beauty of using it while communicating with friends, isn’t it?

There is a pretty smart Android widget called “GifWidget” which allows you to place GIFs on your home screen. Such is its elegance that as soon as I had a look at the widget, I couldn’t help giving it an instant try on my Android smartphone.

GifWidget is available in two versions. While the free version allows you to add one GIF at a time, the Pro one (priced at $1.05) doesn’t have such restriction.

Willing to place a nice GIF on your Android’s screen? Let’s get started with it!

Step #2. Simply, long-press on an open section of your home screen to bring up the page settings. You will see an option “Widgets” or something like this as per your Android version/skin/launcher. You have to tap on it.

Step #3. Next up, you need to scroll through the drawer till you see GifWidget.

Note: You can add the GIFs even at small spaces like 1×1. If you don’t have much space on your home screen or want to have a larger GIF, you will need to add another page to your home screen.

Step #5. After you have chosen a GIF, you can set GIF to low, medium, high, or source quality. Tap on “Create” in order to bring the GIF to your device home screen.

Step #6. Size Your GIF. You will have to drag the dots around the GIF in order to set height and width.

You have the option to set it as tiny as 1×1 or as large as to cover the whole screen of your device.

That’s done! The GIF will now start playing on your home screen.
