I have been a loyal Android user for quite some. Google Play Store has been my favorite as it boasts of billions of fantastic apps. There are times when the Google Play Store not working on Android properly due to some issues like an error message when downloading apps or random crashing. However, thanks to some smart tricks I am able to fix such issues right away.

Google Play Store Not Working on Android? Tips to Fix the Issue
Make sure to Check Date and Time Settings
Google keeps a track of your Android smartphone’s date and time for the Play Store. It might cause some issues if the store does not find a time.
Step #1. Open Settings on your Android device.
Step #2. Under System, tap on Date and Time.
Step #3. Now, you should see whether your device is on the Automatic date and time provided by your network. If it isn’t already then you need to turn it on.
In case your smartphone is on automatic and your Google Play Store is still not working properly, you need to manually set the date and time. Just turn Automatic date and time off. Then, enter the date and time accurately.
Clear the Google Play Store cache
Get rid of the Google Play Store cache. It can help you resolve the issue,
Step #1. Open Settings on your Android device.
Step #2. Head over to your Apps or Application manager.
Step #3. Now, depending on your device, you need to simply scroll down and tap on Clear cache or you would have to tap on Storage then get rid of Clear cache.
Clean up Play Store data
Remove your Play Store data. It will delete all your saved information and also erase your files, settings, accounts, databases.
Step #1. Open Settings and head over to Apps or Application manager.
Step #2. Scroll down and tap on Clear data or tap on Storage then Clear data.
Clear data and cache on Google Play Services
Make sure to clean up the data and cache on your Google Play Services. Play Store issues could be the result of ill-functioning of Google Play Services. Eradicating all the junk data and cache can help.
Step #1. Open Settings and tap on Application manager or Apps.
Step #2. Tap on Google Play Services app.
Step #3. Tap on Clear cache button or first tap on Storage then Tap on the Clear cache. (You can also tap on Manage space or Manage storage then hit Clear all data.)
Install the latest version of Google Play Services
Download and install the latest version of Google Play Services on your device. On a number of occasions, I have been able to fix this issue by simply installing the up-to-date version on my Android device.
Step #1. Open Google Play Store app on your Android device.
Step #2. Tap on the menu button (looks like three lines at the top left-hand corner of the screen).
Step #3. Tap on Settings.
Step #4. Under General, you can check out when your Google Play app updates. Tap on Auto-update apps and make sure Auto-update apps over Wi-Fi is selected. Make sure your device is connected to Wi-Fi.
Reset your Google account
A number of users who had run into the same issue reported having resolved the problem by resetting their Google account. Try out this trick as well.
Step #1. Open Settings and tap on Accounts.
Step #2. Next, tap on the Google account you wish to remove.
Step #3. Tap on the menu icon (looks like three dots at the top right)
Step #4. Tap on Remove account. Make sure to do this for every Google account on your Android device.
Step #5. You will have to re-enter your Google account. Open Settings → Account and then tap on Add Account. (Go ahead with the on-screen instructions to add your account.)

Check Out the disabled apps
There are several apps including the system apps like Google Play Store which need others to work properly. You need to enable the apps which you have disabled.
Step #1. Open Settings and then Application manager or Apps.
Step #2. Scrolls down, you will see the disabled apps.
Step #3. Tap on Enable.
Disable your VPN
VPN allows you to have your favorite media outside your geographic location, install an app in the Play Store of another country. It could be causing the problem for Google Play Store in your current reason.
Step #1. Open Settings and tap on More ( More networks depending on your Android phone)
Step #2. Tap on VPN and turn it off.
Enable Download Manager
The Play Store might not work properly if you have disabled download manager on your device.
Step #1. Open Settings and tap on Apps or Application manager (depending on your Android device).
Step #2. You may all of your apps on the screen or you need to select All.
Step #3. Locate Downloads or Download manager and tap on it.
Step #4. If Download manager is disabled. Tap on Enable button to get it started again.
Uninstall previous updates
You can uninstall Google Play Store’s previous updates. The ill-fated update might be the bone of contention.
Step #1. Open Settings and tap or Apps or Application manager.
Step #2. On the next screen, you might see all of your apps or you may need to choose All.
Step #3. Locate Google Play Store and tap on Uninstall updates.
Factory data reset your Android Device
If all the above-mentioned solutions have failed to troubleshoot the problem, you need to factory data reset your smartphone. Remember, it will erase all the data on your device. Hence, make sure to back up your phone before going ahead with the process.
Step #1. Open Settings and tap on Backup & reset.
Step #2. Next, you need to ensure that the Backup my data slider is on. Tap on Backup account to choose which account you wish your data backed up to.
Step #3. Now, head over to the Backup & reset menu and tap on the Factory data reset button at the bottom. Confirm it.
