In the honor of the one that made our childhood awesome, Mario Kart, the most famous mustachioed plumber in the video gaming world, March 10 is celebrated as Mario Day. And to double this excitement, Google Maps teamed up with Nintendo and rolled out a feature on their navigation interface where the users can get ‘Mario Time’ Navigation in their Google Maps Android or iOS app. We know you wouldn’t be able to hold your excitement and so to help you unlock the iconic character ‘Mario’ to navigate your routes this week, we prepared our quick guide without wasting any more minute.
Since this integration will be available only for a full Week, if your Mario obsession is still alive and want to enjoy the fun ride with Mario, here’s how you can unlock Mario Time Navigate on Google Maps for Android and iPhone.
How to Unlock Mario Time Navigate in Google Maps for Android or iPhone
First off, Update your Google Maps app from Google Play or the App Store (if you haven’t)
Step #1. Launch Google Maps on your Smartphone.
Step #2. Insert your destination and choose your vehicle as a car.
You can also add multiple destinations in Google Maps on Android and iPhone. Check out this straightforward guide to know the full procedure.
Step #3. Now, instead of pressing the start button, look for a yellow “?” icon at the bottom right-hand corner of the app screen.
Step #4. Next, you’ll be prompted to enable Mario Time. Now tap the “Let’s-A-Go!” labeled button.
Step #5. Once enabled, the regular navigation arrow icon will get morphed into Mario, so just sit back and relax while Mario will guide you.
Tip: If your love for Mario is so big, you can try pressing the yellow “?” 100 times to hear it make the 1-up sound from the Super Mario Bros games.
This isn’t the first time Google has come up with a fun element, if you may recall, Pac-Man, Loch Ness Monster, Doctor Who’s TARDIS, etc. have made their appearances. Talking about Mario’s appearance, it more like a Sneak Peak of the upcoming new edition of the popular racing game series, titled Mario Kart Tour which is scheduled to release in the fiscal year ending in March 2019.
