Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus are the most popular smartphones of the year. It comes with Android 7.0, while Samsung is almost ready to officially announce the Android Oreo Beta for Galaxy S8. Some of the Reddit users already claimed that they got the early access to the Beta on their S8.
Well, you can also get the Android 8.0 Oreo beta on Galaxy S8 or S8 Plus. For that, you will have to install the Samsung+ app and register your device with Samsung Account so that your device will be ready to install Android Oreo Beta once it arrives. If you don’t have a Samsung account, you can still get it through the Oreo zip file. Don’t worry! We have covered both methods in this post.
How to Get the Android 8.0 Oreo Beta on Galaxy S8 or S8 Plus
Note: Currently, Android Oreo Beta is being rolled out to selected Galaxy S8 users in the US, UK, North Korea, and South Korea. It will soon release for India, Germany, Chine, France, and other countries.
Here we have mentioned two different methods in case if one doesn’t work. Make sure that you have a complete backup of your data.
Method #1: Get Android 8.0 Oreo Beta via Samsung Member or Samsung+ App
Step #2. Next, sign in with your Samsung Account and ensure that your device is registered to your Samsung account.
Step #3. Now, wait, Samsung+ app will show you a prompt where you can enroll to participate in the Oreo Beta program.
Step #4. Once you have enrolled your S8 for Android 8.0 Beta program. Go to Settings → Software update → Download updates manually to pull down the OTA.
Method #2: Install Android 8.0 Oreo Beta via Oreo Beta Zip file
Step #1. Download and Install the Samsung+ app on Galaxy S8/S8 Plus.
Step #2. Download the Oreo beta zip file and unzip the contents.
Step #3. Once it unzipped, click on start.bat.
Step #4. Now go to the WiFi Settings on your Galaxy S8/S8+, and then long press on the currently WiFi network. After that, tap on “manage network settings” and then “show advanced options.”
Step #5. Now you need to set your PC’s IP address as the proxy server in the Wireless LAN Adapter section. For the port, you need to enter 8888.
To find your computer’s IP address: Open the command prompt and type “ipconfig”
Step #6. Open the Samsung+ app and you should see a prompt with a message that you are eligible to enroll in the beta!
