Finally, the wait is over. Although it was speculated long back; during the UK Galaxy Beta Program when an Android 7.0 Nougat beta update was distributed among the participants having S7 Edge. But now it is clear that on 9th of this month Samsung will formally allow the beta update for all those who are having Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. It is very much likely that this program will continue till the mid of December and then it will be allowed globally.
Samsung is among the firsts who brought Android phones to the world and hence it was expected that it will bring the Nougat version to most of its flagship products. The recent debacle with Note 7 should also need to be washed out from the people’s memory and this announcement might just do well for the South Korean electronics giant.
Right now the pre-release of Nougat on S7 and S7 Edge is available on the Play store for the S7 and S7 Edge users. They have to first sign up via Galaxy Beta Program app and then Samsung has to approve it. But it seems that after 9th all the beta testers will be able to download the beta version of Android 7.0 Nougat.
You can say it a mere co-incidence but even last year Samsung offered a similar beta program on Marshmallow as well for Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge as well. So Samsung is keeping the similarity going this year as well. If you are also a beta enthusiast then you must note that as always there will be few restrictions while testing the beta versions of Android 7.0 Nougat. The carries will be limited in the UK and in US Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon will be the preferred carriers. Apart from that the Galaxy S7 edge Olympic edition and Batman Injustice editions are also not eligible for this update.
